Desert Dunes is a desert based combat zone, with a wide open area to drive, snipe, and hide. This map is under construction, and set to release sometime in 2010, with multiple new vehicles, new weapons, new bipeds, new textures, new scripts, and new features.
Story[]
The story behind Desert Dunes goes back to early 2008, when Red Haze Productions was modeling the terrain for Helipad Studios. The project went through many stages, and had over 3 different map layouts created. Although ready to be put in Halo Custom Edition, the interest in the project was lost, to another project, the Grand Theft Auto Conversion Project, being done by Helipad Studio's vehicle designer, Cody Smith.
The project was picked back up by Cody Smith in mid 2009, being brought back into the Helipad Studios project list, as a "Community Release".

The GTA:CP is being applied to Desert Dunes, to supply weapons, bipeds, textures, sounds, and ideas. All models from Grand Theft Auto are remodeled by Cody Smith, to work in Halo Custom Edition.
